Role Summary

The Chief Marketing and Operations Officer (CMOO) is a dual-focused leadership role responsible for both driving StreamPay’s market presence and ensuring operational excellence. This pivotal position will lead the company's critical launch in Nigeria on October 1st, while simultaneously building a robust operational foundation for rapid scale. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven ability to direct marketing initiatives, manage complex operations, and drive a cohesive brand identity that resonates with both consumers and content creators in the African market.

This is a critical leadership role that will navigate the complexities of the African digital landscape, leading a pivotal launch in Nigeria on October 1st. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a proven ability to scale operations, build high-performing teams, and drive sustainable growth. This role requires an expert who can not only manage the day-to-day operations but also innovate within the company's unique "zero-data" business model and its ecosystem of partners and creators. Given the integral connectivity between marketing and operations, this role is integrated into one function. 

This role reports directly to the CEO, and is expected to be a close second in the day to day business of the organization - handling the internal world of running the business while the CEO focuses on the external world (partners, regulators, buyers, content producers, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Go-to-Market (GTM) and Brand Leadership: Lead and execute the comprehensive GTM strategy for the Nigeria market launch, overseeing all aspects of branding and market entry. Develop and manage a marketing strategy that leverages advertising and sponsorship opportunities to grow the user base.
  • Rapid Team Scaling & Management: Lead a massive recruitment effort to hire and onboard, and house 60+ new employees within the next six months. Build, mentor, and manage diverse, cross-functional teams including the Product team focused on data analysis, Marketing, Customer Support, and a specialized FinTech team responsible for the App and Creator Wallet
  • Customer Acquisition & Engagement: Implement a Funnel-Based Customer Engagement Management strategy to drive user acquisition and retention. Monitor key metrics to ensure the company achieves its breakeven goal and meets its target of at least 8 subscriptions per month
  • Operational & Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee all core operational functions, ensuring the stability and performance of StreamPay’s local hosting servers. Direct the Network Operating Center (NOC) to guarantee high uptime and swift resolution of issues, ensuring smooth streaming experiences even in areas with limited connectivity.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage high-stakes relationships with telecom operators like MTN and Airtel to negotiate bulk data purchases at discounted rates and optimize the data sponsorship margin, a core revenue stream for the company.
  • Creator Ecosystem & Monetization: Ensure the integrity and functionality of the built-in Creator Wallet, guaranteeing that content creators receive real-time payments (40-60% of revenue). Drive creator engagement and loyalty by providing transparent and streamlined monetization tools.
  • Financial & Performance Management: Hire a fractional service to act as the key driver of StreamPay’s financial performance. Implement and track the 11 key business metrics, focusing on customer acquisition and engagement to achieve the breakeven goal of at least 8 subscriptions per month.
  • Long-Term Planning & Expansion: Develop and execute a detailed roadmap for future growth, including the expansion of Regional Operations starting in Q1 2026.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role combining both marketing and operations functions, preferably within the technology or digital streaming sector in Africa (e.g., COO, CMO, VP of Operations) within a high-growth technology, media, or telecommunications company in Africa.
  • Proven expertise in brand management, digital marketing, customer acquisition, and funnel optimization.
  • Proven ability to manage complex logistics and operations, with a strong understanding of technical infrastructure and scalable systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with a diversified revenue model, including subscriptions, advertising, and partnership-based monetization.
  • A track record of successfully recruiting, hiring, and mentoring large teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a B2B2C business model and a solid understanding of both consumer behavior and enterprise partnerships.
