Are You a Builder Who Makes Things Happen?

You’ve been in the trenches of startup life — maybe as a founder, maybe as an early team member. You know what it means to create something out of nothing. You move fast, think practically, and get things done. You’re not looking for fluff, vanity titles, or structured training. You’re looking for real work, real stakes, and real momentum.

Future Africa is offering a chance to plug into high-impact build projects across our venture portfolio. This isn’t a stepping stone into venture capital. It’s a launchpad for builders who want to sharpen their skills, expand their network, and contribute to something meaningful — all while learning how to build valuable ventures in Nigeria.

About the Build Fellows Program

This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside the founders of our most promising startups. You’ll help them tackle urgent challenges — from refining go-to-market strategies to fixing broken ops to launching products from scratch.

This is not theory. This is real-world building.

What you’ll do depends on your skillset, but could include:

  • Helping launch and iterate on MVPs
  • Designing and executing growth experiments
  • Solving ops bottlenecks
  • Supporting fundraising or investor readiness
  • Plugging directly into a founding team for 30+ days of focused execution

You’ll be paid a modest stipend, but the real value comes from:

  • Learning how to build in Africa — fast, messy, and smart
  • Working closely with and being mentored by successful builders like Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Mia von Koschitzky-Kimani
  • Plugging into the Future Africa network of founders, operators, and funders
  • Earning trust and visibility for longer-term roles with our startups or future build projects

You Should Apply If:

  • You’ve built or scaled a company before (whether or not it succeeded)
  • You’re practical, fast-moving, and scrappy
  • You have 3–5+ years of experience in a startup or builder-type role
  • You want to level up as a venture builder in Africa
  • You’re available to start a full-time sprint in Nigeria (onsite or hybrid)

What We’re Offering:

  • A front-row seat in the startup trenches
  • 30-day build sprint + potential 3–6 month extensions
  • Monthly stipend
  • The chance to join a startup full-time or keep building with us on future ventures after the fellowship is over
  • Real exposure, real momentum, and real builders to work with
