About the Investment Fellowship

The Investment Fellowship is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with our investment team and support some of Africa’s most promising startups. You’ll learn how deals get done, sharpen your analytical skills, and gain insights into the unique dynamics of venture capital in emerging markets.

What you’ll do depends on your skillset, but projects could include:

• Investment Research & Strategy: Conduct in-depth research into sectors, analyse market trends, and engage with startups to shape investment theses.
• Deal Execution Support: Assist with building financial models, drafting investment memos, and preparing reports to support decision-making.
• Portfolio Value Creation: Contribute to structured programmes, tools, and resources that accelerate growth for our portfolio companies.
• Content & Thought Leadership: Develop insights that showcase Africa’s innovation ecosystem to a global audience.
• Independent Project: Lead a self-directed initiative that delivers measurable value to the team or ecosystem.

We’re looking for fellows who can start in September 2025, with additional cohorts considered on a rolling basis.

Required:

• Academic Excellence: Recent university graduate with at least a 2:1 (or equivalent) and a minimum grade of A* in (I)GCSE / A1 in WASSCE / or equivalent top grades in Mathematics and First Language English.
• Proactive Mindset: Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes initiative, and delivers results.
• Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; comfortable with ambiguity and scaling metrics rapidly.
• Curiosity & Passion: A deep interest in technology, startups, and Africa’s innovation ecosystem.
• Communication Skills: Ability to synthesise complex ideas and present them clearly in investment memos, reports, and presentations.

Desired:

• Professional Experience: Internship experience in top-tier investment banking, strategy consulting, growth/private equity, or as a founder/operator in a high-growth technology company.
• Language Skills: Conversational proficiency in French.
