Internship duration is 3-6 months, ideally full time but could also be part time under certain circumstances. We select candidates on a rolling basis to start the fellowship later in the year.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will depend on your background, expertise and interest. Example projects could include: 

• Strategic support for Africa Accelerate (‘the YC of Africa’): Support the team to build out Accelerate Africa into a household brand name of successful acceleration of future African unicorns
• Investment Strategy: Pick an area of interest and expertise and drive deep research into investment opportunities in the space interacting with existing startups, industry experts and investors defining an investment thesis and identifying and executing concrete investment opportunities
• Portfolio Support: Build out a portfolio support program in a specific area including building tools, recruiting partners, creating content
• Storytelling: Help us tell the Africa story in a more impactful way to a global audience
• Your project idea: We welcome your innovative suggestions on projects that drive value for our portfolio, firm and ecosystem

Who We Are Looking For

• Accomplished professionals with at least 5 years of experience in fields such as technology, science, media, corporate business, finance, consulting, or entrepreneurship.
• Individuals with a proven track record of success and leadership in their respective areas.
• A deep passion for technology, innovation, and the transformative potential of startups in Africa.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, networking and communication skills.
• A commitment to contributing to Africa’s economic development and a desire to learn about venture capital and startup ecosystems.
