Challenge:
The digital and gig economy has transformed Africa by creating new income streams and entrepreneurship opportunities for millions of people. However, for gig workers in the transportation, instant delivery, or logistics spaces – owning a vehicle is a must. And vehicle ownership is out of reach for most Africans due to inaccessible financing options.
Solution:
Moove’s offering allows gig drivers, or “mobility entrepreneurs” as they call them, to work towards vehicle ownership in an affordable way. Drivers pay weekly fees to cover their drive-to-own, drive-to-earn and flexi rental contracts, and at the end of the term, the vehicle is theirs. This new revenue-based financing model for vehicle ownership – which includes cars, trucks, bikes, and motorcycles – initially launched in Nigeria and has since expanded to millions of drivers in emerging markets across Africa, MENA, and Europe. The mission-driven fintech continues expanding with a clear eye on three goals: support gender equality by helping more women own their own vehicles, use clean energy by offering hybrid and electric vehicle fleets, and enable financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.

In 2023 and beyond, every company is a remote company. Companies need skilled talent, but sourcing, training, and retaining the best talent is a challenge. While brilliant talent is evenly distributed around the world –opportunity is not. The most talented people looking for work should not be limited by arbitrary factors like race, gender, nationality, or time zone.
Solution:
Andela helps companies of all sizes – from startups to the world’s largest enterprises – to build remote teams by giving them access to the best technology talent in emerging markets. For tech talent, Andela provides employment opportunities at vetted companies, as well as collaborative learning and resources. For companies, Andela helps source, evaluate and hire the best specialized talent by role, no matter where they are in the world – and do it quickly. Andela started with a cohort of software engineers in Nigeria and has since then expanded to emerging markets around the world.
